Taylor began his journey at the United States Naval Academy, training to become a Naval Officer. But halfway through, struggling with his mental health, he realized this path wasn’t his true calling. After making the difficult decision to leave, he set off on a journey of self-exploration, diving into plant medicines and ancestral healing traditions. Traveling and exploring various spiritual practices and traditional healing modalities, Taylor sought peace and purpose. After years of searching, while working with Decriminalize Nature in Arcata, California in 2021, he encountered Iboga for the first time. The clarity and depth it offered marked a pivotal moment in his journey, revealing the true nature of the calling he had long since been following. Since then, Taylor has devoted himself to the study of Iboga and the Missoko Bwiti tradition. He’s completed traditional training and initiation, including the Rites of Passage in Gabon, and continues to learn from the village that first welcomed him. Now living in Northern California’s beautiful redwood forest, Taylor is focused on sharing the transformative wisdom of Bwiti and Iboga with others on their own paths of self-discovery.
